Privacy Policy

This page explains how Canada Your Way handles the information needed to run your account, remember your saved work, and process premium access.

Last updated: June 2, 2026Educational platform terms

1. What this policy covers

Canada Your Way is an educational product for learning and planning Canadian immigration pathways. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you browse the site, create an account, save progress, or purchase full access.

This policy is written for the current version of the product and reflects the way the app is built today. If product features change in a meaningful way, this page may be updated as well.

2. Information we collect

We collect the information needed to operate the app, remember your progress, and deliver paid access when you choose to upgrade.

  • Account information: your email address, display name, and profile photo when supplied through sign-in methods such as email/password or Google.
  • Learning and profile data: saved module progress, application-guide notes and selections, achievements, target dates, readiness-related fields, and similar account-level planning data.
  • Payment-related records: PayPal order identifiers, capture identifiers, payer email when returned by PayPal, payment status, and premium-access activation details.
  • Contact submissions: your name, email address, message content, delivery status, and related support metadata when you use the contact form.
  • Session and browser data: a signed-in session cookie plus browser storage used to preserve application-guide workspace state on your device.

3. How we use information

We use information only for operating and improving the product experience. That includes account authentication, restoring saved work, activating premium access after confirmed payment, preventing abuse, and maintaining the reliability of the platform.

  • Authenticate you and keep you signed in securely.
  • Store and restore your roadmap progress, profile, and application-guide work.
  • Process premium activation after payment confirmation from PayPal.
  • Receive and respond to questions sent through the contact form.
  • Support troubleshooting, product maintenance, and basic fraud or misuse prevention.

4. Where information is stored and processed

Account, profile, progress, contact-form submissions, and payment-confirmation records are stored using Firebase services and related infrastructure selected by the site operator. PayPal handles checkout processing for premium purchases.

Contact-form emails are sent through the SMTP or email-delivery provider configured by the site operator for support communication.

The app does not need your full card number to activate premium access. Payment card details are handled by PayPal, and the app receives only the transaction data necessary to confirm the upgrade.

5. Cookies, local storage, and saved device state

The app uses a session cookie to keep authenticated users signed in between requests. It also uses browser local storage to keep application-guide workspace state available on the same device.

If you clear cookies or local storage, some saved state may be removed from that browser. Account-level information stored on the server side may still remain available when you sign in again.

6. When we share information

We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared only when needed to operate the product, process a transaction, comply with legal obligations, or protect the product and its users.

  • With service providers such as Firebase and PayPal when they are needed to host the app, authenticate users, store data, or process payments.
  • If required by law, regulation, legal process, or a good-faith request from public authorities.
  • If reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, enforce site rules, or protect the rights, safety, and property of the operator, users, or others.

7. Retention and deletion

Information is retained for as long as it is reasonably needed to operate accounts, preserve user progress, document completed transactions, resolve disputes, and meet legal or bookkeeping needs.

If the operator makes a contact method available for account support, you may use it to request deletion or correction of account data. Some records may need to be kept when required for security, fraud prevention, or legal reasons.

8. Security

Reasonable technical and organizational measures should be used to protect stored information, but no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your own device, browser session, and account credentials as well.

9. Children and sensitive decisions

The product is designed for general educational use and is not intended for young children. It also should not be used as the sole basis for legal, immigration, financial, or other high-stakes decisions.

10. Updates to this policy

This Privacy Policy may change from time to time. When it does, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the service after an update means the revised policy applies going forward.
